Citizens of the Member States of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation may sit the entrance exam under the same conditions as Romanian citizens, including tuition fees.

For admission to all cycles of university studies taught in Romanian, foreign citizens are required to present a certificate of language proficiency in Romanian issued by institutions authorised by the Ministry of Education and Research.

The selection of USAMV CN candidates for undergraduate studies (by fields and study programmes) for the academic year 2025-2026 is carried out by admission, based on the average obtained in the baccalaureate exam, except for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Animal Science and Biotechnology which have specific admission criteria.

 The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has specific competition tests as follows:

 Veterinary Medicine – study in Romanian:

–   Baccalaureat average -60%;

–   Theoretical test (Biology class XI, grid test) – 20%;

–   Theoretical test (Chemistry class X, grid test) – 20%.

Veterinary Medicine – lines of study in English and French

–   Baccalaureate average or equivalent – 90%;

–   Animal breeding and welfare volunteering 

      (certificates, recommendations) – 10%.

The application and the competition will be organised separately for the Romanian-language programme and the English and French-language ones. The ranking of the candidates admitted to the Veterinary Medicine study programmes in English and French will be done in descending order of the admission average and the option mentioned in the application form.

At the Faculty of Animal Science and Biotechnology, admission is by fields of study, Animal Science and Biotechnology respectively.

In the Biotechnologies field of study, admission has specific competitive tests, as follows:

–   Baccalaureate average – 90%;

–   Motivational essay – 10%.

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Study Programmes in English and French – Application form 

Application period: 12 May – 09 July 2025 (4pm)

The list of accepted candidates will be published on the university website on 11.07.2025.

Candidates accepted on tuition-fee payable places must confirm their place by paying 10% of the annual fee.

For the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine the confirmation fee is ⅓ of the tuition fee.

When signing the study contract, the original documents must be submitted and the enrolment fee (30 RON) must be paid.

Accepted candidates who do not sign the study contract within the deadlines set out in the admission timetable will lose the place they have won.

All documents required for enrolment will be attached scanned as follows:

Please note – Applications that do not contain all the documents mentioned in the list below or where the application form is not fully completed will be rejected.

The application file will contain the following:

  1. CNRED* certificate of equivalence of high school studies LINK

*In order to enrol for studies in Romania, the high school diploma must be recognised by the National Centre for the Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED).

  1. Baccalaureate (or equivalent):

For study programmes taught in Romanian

  • Copy and notarised translation into Romanian 

For study programmes taught in English/French

  • a copy, if the diploma is issued in Romanian, English, French
  • copy and notarised translation into Romanian for documents issued in other foreign languages

If the baccalaureate diploma has not yet been issued, a certificate must be presented, certifying that you have completed your secondary studies and the average passing mark in the baccalaureate examination.

For example: Pruebas de Aptitud para el Acceso a la Universidad, qualification Apto from Spain; etc. – copy and notarised translation, except for English, French, etc.

Example: foreigners, family members of Romanian citizens, holders of a temporary residence permit, must submit proof that they are employed or registered unemployed in order to benefit, under the law, of equal treatment with Romanian citizens in terms of enrolment in studies (GEO no. 194/2002 on the regime of foreigners in Romania with subsequent amendments and additions, republished, art. 80 para. (3) letters b) and c))

  1. Language proficiency certificate

For study programmes taught in Romanian – certificate of proficiency in Romanian or certificate of completion of the preparatory year.

For study programmes in which the teaching process is conducted in foreign languages, admission is subject to the presentation of a B2 level language proficiency certificate issued by authorised institutions.

Exempted are persons who come from countries where the official language of the state is the language of instruction and who can prove, with school documents, that they have attended courses in that language for the last 3 years.

  1. For the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – lines of study in English and French

Animal breeding and welfare volunteering (certificates, recommendations, etc.).

  1. Identification documents:
  • Birth certificate – copy, if the educational document is issued in Romanian, English, French; copy and notarised translation into Romanian for documents issued in other foreign languages.
  • Passport – copy.
  • Proof of change of name (if applicable), in copy (Romanian/ English/ French/ and notarised translation (for other languages).
  • Identity card – copy.
  • 3 passport photos (to be submitted when signing the contract).
  1. Medical certificate

A medical certificate issued by the school doctor’s surgery or family doctor, showing that the person applying for the admission competition is fit for the profile for which he/she is applying (the certificate has a validity of 3 month upon delivery); the University reserves the right to request the opinion of a specialised medical committee (Occupational Medicine) to check candidates with chronic diseases, disabilities. 

  1. Application fee

For study programmes within USAMV CN, with the exception of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the application fee is 100 RON.

For the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine:

Veterinary Medicine – Romanian: 200 RON;

Veterinary Medicine – lines of study in English and French: 200 EURO

The admission fee in RON can be paid onsite or online to the account

Important: In the payment form, under the heading – EXPLANATION – please fill in – Name and surname of the candidate for whom the payment is made, Faculty, Programme of studies.

Authentication of qualifications subject to recognition/ equivalence

  1. Apostille or suprauthentication is not required for diplomas from the Republic of Moldova. Diplomas issued prior to 2008 (as well as diplomas issued after 2008 that cannot be verified through the portal) must be accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova, as of 01.04.2019, in copy.
  2. For countries that are party to the Hague Apostille Convention, the study documents subject to equivalence/recognition must be endorsed with the Hague Apostille by the competent authorities of the issuing countries; study documents from Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Cyprus will be endorsed with the Hague Apostille, other EU Member States being exempt.
  3. For countries that are NOT party to the Hague Apostille Convention, the study documents will be supralegalised or will be accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin.

Suprauthentication is applied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country, the Romanian Embassy/Consular Office in that country and the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country and its Embassy/Consular Office in Romania and the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; for countries where there are no Romanian diplomatic missions or which do not have diplomatic missions in Romania, the study documents will be endorsed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country. 

 Accepted candidates will sign a study contract, in person or by another person authorised by a notary, by the deadline set by the admissions committee.

When signing the study contract, until the beginning of the academic year, the candidates must present all the application documents in original, otherwise the place obtained after admission will be lost.
